The dogs are walked; I’ll eat a Scotch Egg and pour a Guinness and settle down to watch the final two episodes ever of 24. Will it improve on the run of poor endings I’ve seen?

That wasn’t bad.

It wasn’t as bad as the ending of Battlestar Galactica. It now seems the somewhat rushed and muddled final season wrap-up of Buffy The Vampire Slayer is about as good as it gets in ending TV shows. But I haven’t finished watching The Shield or Six Feet Under yet so they may surprise me 🙂
So I’ve rebooted the Sky HD box so that it’ll probably work and I should be able to watch it tomorrow after we get back from Pip’s dog training class. Now I just have to remain spoiler-free tomorrow until then 🙂
Watched the second episode of the new BBC drama Luther in HD and realised where it is going – Luther is the Clarice Starling to Alice Morgan’s Hannibal Lecter. He’s the troubled cop investigating heinous crimes and she’s the evil genius with a love/hate relationship with him who will no doubt help him figure out some of those crimes in future episodes even as he still tries to collar her for the murders she got away with. Maybe 🙂
Winter is, indeed, coming.
HBO has greenlighted highly anticipated fantasy series “Game of Thrones.”
The premium network has picked up the project for a first season debut next spring (below is the first released photo from the series). Nine episodes plus the pilot have been ordered. Production will begin in Belfast this June.
I’m thinking this must be rather condensed to fit that few episodes.

Take your latest CGI of an improbably-hued accretion disk and shove it. I wanted to watch future or other-world parents ragging on their conflicted, rebellious teenaged offspring;

I’ve seen the first few episodes of this now, and it’s very good. Good enough that cancellation is inevitable I fear 🙁
Ordered Monday, arrived Tuesday and put on charge overnight (16 hours required before use) set up today.
Sennheiser RS-130 and HDR-130. Base station and two sets of headphones.
Supplementary headphones.
Just two little AAA NiMH batteries.
Base station and head set.
Installed in the home theatre room for late night viewing of 24, Lost and other noisy shows.
The base station charges two sets of headphones OK.
The SKY HD box conveniently outputs an analog stereo signal simultaneously with the optical digital 5.1
UPDATE: 4 Feb 2010.
Today this SCART->3.5mm headphone adapter arrived and I found it worked to get stereo out of my home theatre unit so now I can get headphone sound while watching DVDs or AVIs on a USB flash drive. The sound out on the SCART turns on when the HT speaker volume is set to Min (0).

Buffy not #1? No Dexter? Although the funniest part is the level of cluelessness in the comments. If some of the Buffy haters on there actually have seen any episodes they must have been the expurgated versions the BBC prepared for daytime TV. Because it’s a children’s programme obviously. One that has to be heavily cut for pre-watershed airing.
HBO is stoked about how ‘Thrones’ is coming together… [From HBO: ‘Games of Thrones’ dailies ‘fantastic’]
They’ll run out of books in the series if GRRM doesn’t speed up a little. But I am looking forward to seeing this if it gets greenlit.
Season 2 of Being Human starts on BBC3 and BBC HD at 10:30PM on Sunday January 10th. I’ve set my SKY HD box to record the series on HD.
And Heroes starts on BBC HD on Saturday 9th, so that’s on series record too.
