Just stopped working. Opened it up for a look. Ordered replacement 85Mbps unit. The 1000Mbps now cost the same so next time I might replace all four with newer ones.

Less than a day until the final episode of season two of Game of Thrones airs on Sky Atlantic here in the UK. Up until now I have watched the previous episode again before each new one, but since episode nine, Blackwater, skipped most of the plot lines that will be visited in the finale it seems more appropriate to watch episode eight again.
So I wanted to connect my SKY HD box to the internet to receive the SKY Anytime+ service. I already had a Homeplug behind the home theatre setup providing a connection for the NAS.
So I got this.

Eco-friendly cardboard packaging.

Very small.

All wired up and running.

The wiring behind the TV is a little much.

Two HDMI cables, three ethernet cables, 6 pairs of speaker cables for the 5.1 surround sound, a phone cable, two coaxial cables to the dish, a TOS optical audio link, a stereo feed from the HTIB to the wireless headphone base, three mains power leads and three DC power supply leads. Probably something I forgot.

I made a good guess in this old post (warning SPOILERS). Except
I went to see this last week (not in 3D) and enjoyed it quite a bit. Not as much as some of the reviewers did, but I found it an enjoyable well-made entertainment. Which makes it a lot better than most of the blockbusters in recent years.
Seemed a bit rushed despite the length. I quite enjoyed it as a non-reader of the books although several scenes seemed like they might have been more significant in the book that the film managed to make them feel.
It’s official – HBO has ordered a third season of Game of Thrones. Season two has been excellent so far.
So, a shout out for Game of Thrones on The Secret Circle! Am I the only person who noticed that, or are my ears broken?
Season two has begun and is even better than season one. Today it was announced that the show had won a Peabody award. No news on renewal yet though.
Went to see John Carter 3D today. Two other people were in the less than 1% filled theatre. The retrofitted 3D didn’t add much. Having read A Princess of Mars nearly forty years ago I was able to follow the over-complicated story but I found it very rushed. Important story elements whizzed past without any weight. Lynn Collins did a great job as Dejah Thoris. Taylor Kitsch was a little bland as John Carter. I guess there won’t be a sequel.
