A £15 replacement for the £19.95 Motorola I’ve been using for the last six years or so (the battery was beginning to fade). Just transferred the PAYG SIM over and there was my credit and numbers all ready to use. That’s the third handset the SIM has been in. It started around 2002 in a big brick of a Philips that cost £19.95. The Samsung does over two weeks between charges.

I’m writing this on my iMac, one of the four Apple devices in the house. I’ve been using Apple computers since 1994 when I got a 6100/60. I made my first sale of Mac software in 2001. Apple has come a long way in the ten years since under Steve’s leadership.
Every year some new TV shows come out that seem based on very similar ideas. This year I noticed that Ringer and The Lying Game have rather similar concepts. Separated identical twins (played by the same actress), one rich one poor, swap places. One disappears and the poor sister attempts to find out what’s going on while impersonating the rich sister. More or less.
Grimm and Once Upon A Time both bring fairy tales into the real world but in rather different ways.
I had a dream. I dreamed of a burger with cheese and chili and an egg on top. I related this dream to Mrs Wife and she pointed out that I had forgotten bacon. So today I made my dream with bacon.

Went to see Colombiana starring Amandla Stenberg as young Cataleya Restrepo and Zoe Saldana as grown up Cataleya.
Young Cataleya witnesses the murder of her parents by drug dealers in Bogota. She escapes to Chicago and is raised by her uncle who is a hit man and teaches her the trade. Grown up Cataleya is a contract killer with a sideline in trying to find and eliminate her parents’ murderers who are now hidden in the USA under CIA protection as informants.
Much chasing about and firing of automatic weapons + bombs and martial arts. Four out of five from me.
I upgraded my iMac from 2GB to 3GB so I could install Lion. My iMac is a late 2006 model Core 2 Duo at 2.16 GHz.
Package from Amazon.

The Crucial DIMM.

Instructions for accessing the RAM are thoughtfully printed on the underside of the stand.

Two original 1GB DIMMS with one removed (Samsung).

New memory inserted.

Reboot with 3GB RAM 🙂
I bought a new bathroom fan from Amazon a while back but hadn’t got around to installing it.

Until today. My new drill came in handy as the knock-out for the wiring was in a different place and I had to make a new hole to feed the wiring through. The timer runs a little long so I may turn it down in the future – but the bathroom gets quite steamy so maybe I won’t.

(The fan is actually turning, the flash just froze it in the picture.)
